YUMMA MUDRA Founder of the Danza Duende project and author of the book “La voie qui danse”, Yumma Mudra has been dancing since her childhood. Tantric dancer, she is inspired by the traditions of the Wisdom Dakinis. In her art she has gathered the keys to undertake the transmutation of emotions, awareness of space and the union of masculine and feminine. Thanks to the creation of Danza Duende she experimented with effectiveness the paths to reinforce the openness of the heart, establishing conscious synergy in interdependence, and developing the culture of kindness in the process of the artistic discipline, from intimate solitude to solidarity. Since 2013 she joins Michel Raji in the work of “Chorésophie” with their tour “Samaya, Rituel de la Rose”. www.danzaduende.org
MICHEL RAJI Abdeslam Michel Raji was born in Morocco, then he moved to France at the age of 12. The displacements in his life contributed to create a sort of “cartography”, which was drawn inside him. Each step he took towards another place represented an initiation step towards universality. A dancer and a choreographer since very young, he was trained in ballet and contemporary dance. In 1985 he created his own educational path calling it Chorésophie. The interior landscape of Chorésophie moves from materiality to metaphysics. Chorésophie deals with the exploration of breath in dancing and the essence of dancing. By listening to one’s inner breath and going through the exploration of one’s own rhythms of respiration, making acquaintance with respiration movements and sounds, the work of the dancer strikes root in the endless alternation of beat and upbeat of respiration. Each beat as well as each upbeat live in space and time. You can refine your practice by expanding your gestures and movements until they become a dynamic dance, which has the form of a circle. In this dance, by dancing this way, you make a ritual of the breath, which you have found again inside yourself. It is an artistic quest for essence, for the act of dancing, in which this very act is changed into a knowledge path. Michel has changed his body through his personal and alchemic discovery of breath and sensorium. He has developed since more than 30 years extremely varied tools and extraordinary keys for Chorésophie, which are effective and consistent. His vast work presents a precise consistency, that makes it possible for the student to discover little by little inside him/her the essence of the form and which essence the absence of form is made of. Consequently the students are enabled to find paths by which they can get to powerfully express such essence through artistic languages.

CRISTINA MANRIQUE I started my training practice in Rhythmic Gymnastics, Judo and Ballet at the age of 6. At 8 and for the following 10 years I dedicated myself to Flamenco. Almost simultaneously from 1997 to 1998 I started studying art history at the University of Barcelona and Bellydance (and world dances like Bhangra, Gypsy, dances of the Pacific Ocean ...) in Devorah Korek’ school and others. I kept learning and investigating on different styles and techniques with other teachers (Shokry Mohamed Mahmoud Reda, Farida Fahmi, Suraya Hilal and Alessandro Bascioni, Sabina Todaro, Tamalyn Dalal, Paula Lena …). Taught classes in the Sarabi School of Devorah Korek for 5 years and I was part of her dance company for 7 years. In 2003 I contacted with Kundalini Yoga, a discipline that I’ve been practicing since then. In 2005 I met Danza Duende and Yumma Mudra (Myriam Szabo), I took Level I in Danza Duende and thus beginning my training in this path in which I keep continuing. Since 2006 I’ve been collaborating with visual artist David Ymbernon as part of his company and participating in different productions of the creator: performances in art exhibitions in Barcelona and Lleida, and participating in festivals (Panorama d'Olot, Barcelona GREC) In 2007 in Barcelona I open my own dance space, Dansala, until 2010, that I closed it on the birth of my first child. From Barcelona, I work in the Duende Project team with La Negra, creating together workshops, cycles of dances, parties, the piece “Poema Blanco“ as well as other projects and shows that are still in incubation. Together with La Negra and with companions we created the performance “El aliento de la Dakini“, based on an idea of Yumma Mudra. In 2014/15 I stepped into the universe of sensorial theater with the postgraduate studies of “Lenguaje Sensorial y poética del juego” with the company Teatro de los Sentidos by the Fundació Universitat de Girona, starting to investigate dance as a sensory language. And I'm still there, as a personal assistant to the director, continuing my education with them and participating in some performances ( "18m2 de piel” and "Renéixer"). In these days I’m proposing dance cycles and workshops of Oriental Duende and ZingarOriental in Barcelona, focused especially on the eastern, organic and authentic movement. "Feeling the feet on the ground, the hips rejoice, the heart shines, the face lights up, and every cell in the body vibrates in the infinite space of the eternal dance ... dancing life!”

JEAN-LUC PEROT I started as a teenager and grew in the mood of martial arts - judo, karatedo - Aïkido - boxing. I slowly came out of school graduated in physical education. Then looking after the concept of QI (Chi or Ki - energy) I studied traditional chinese medicine and later osteopathic manual therapy. By the age of 30 I was attracted in the field of Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Cong and since then I never quit to refine my search and the practice. I think that my appeal was to better understand people, health, wellness and happiness. Round my 50th, I opened my space with dancing, martial arts were too much confined in a face to face meeting. And so Danza Duende came naturally in my life, expressing my own search in a way I was not able to structure in those times. I’m also deeply concerned by neuro-cognition and behaviour. So…the beat goes on…

MARIA JOSE SAINZ (MUSA)
LA NEGRA I started the pursuit of my artistic expression as a small girl in Argentina. I explored theater, dance and writing. Later I went into fashion design and photography until the moment I found my space in bellydance and it gradually grew into a deep inner journey of self-knowledge. Since '98 I trained in belly dancing with Paula Lena in Buenos Aires and delved with teachers like Mohamed Shokry, Paula Lena, Myriam Szabo (Yumma Mudra), among others. I am a teacher of Duende Oriental Dance, Duende Free and I created a work with and for women called "Féminas-feminine magic". I live in Barcelona. I am lucky enough to be able to share my work in other various places like Madrid, Vitoria, Buenos Aires, Lisbon, Milan, Ireland ... I keep training in Danza Duende (I started in 2004) with Yumma Mudra and the teachers of the Duende International Network. As I’m interested in working with the essence of feminine energy and its many nuances, I created "Féminas-feminine magic" that I’m currently developing in collaboration with Laura Orsina. From this project “La Morada de Las Féminas”was born: it’s a femininity ritual performed with Desirée García Miras and Laura Orsina. I also create and produce events and shows solo and in collaboration with other artists, such as: Cristina Manrique, with the piece “Poema Blanco”; Yumma Mudra, with “El aliento de la Dakini". I created and directed “Entre Tierra y Cielo”, multidisciplinary performance with the participation of various artists and Leire Bolumburu’s production. I created and directed "Féminas en escena”, a work-in-progress performance. Since 2004 I’ve been also producing various Duende events in collaboration with other people. Currently, and as a synthesis of my life journey, I created together with Laura Orsina the "Thelys Rituales” project. I am a mother of a boy and a girl. Motherhood is for me the richest and most demanding practice.
